J024 Feature Writing For Fun & Profit

This four-week feature writing workshop is for every level of writing experience—even beginners—and includes feature writing for all media, including websites and blogs as well as various print media. Unlike straight news reporting, features provide a deeper, richer immersion into a subject of special interest, and employ a more colorful and distinctive writing style. Sometimes this approach will inject the writer into the story; but, more often, it requires first-rate reporting and research to learn as much about the subject as possible.  Then, the specifics must connect to weave a cohesive narrative in the writer’s own “voice.” The participants in this class will explore how to develop and sell a feature article. All participants are encouraged to bring their work and ideas to the class. Small class size ensures personalized attention. For more information on this course, please contact the instructor, Lee R. Schreiber: contactme@leerobertschreiber.com.
