This workshop is for anyone who wants to learn how to write and sell feature stories. A feature story is an article in a newspaper, magazine, or on the Internet, that is not meant to report breaking news but rather, to provide an interesting, in-depth discussion of a subject of general interest. Features typically delve deeper into a subject than a news article and can use a more colorful writing style. Features are becoming more common in all media today and they are picked up by the wire services. There is even a Pulitzer Prize now for feature writing. This workshop explains the proven principles of successful feature writing in more depth than F013: Writing & Selling Short Articles Workshop, and provides in-class writing opportunities for practice. Each client also obtains help in identifying the types of articles he or she is most likely to sell, and guidance in how to sell them. Small class size ensures personal attention.
