F014– Teaching Kids Journal Writing

The goal of this workshop is to train children in grades 4-12 in basic writing skills—including grammar, punctuation, and sentence structure. Children participating will practice writing both in the workshop and at home using age-appropriate topics to create their own descriptive and narrative work. In addition, participants will be guided in developing the three-idea thesis statement essay now taught in all New Jersey high schools. To continue improving their writing skills, participants will be given direction for their ongoing journal writing after the workshop ends. Parents or caregivers are requested to wait outside the workshop during class, but will be offered short consultations with the instructor after class.

Course ID: F014--0408 Next Class Starts April 26
