F001 Grammar and Writing Skills Inventory

For anyone who wishes to have his or her writing skills evaulated objectively and confidentially. This program requires only two meetings about one week apart. The client is contacted by a WPx manager to arrange the first meeting shortly after he or she registers.

A survey and some tests typically are sent to the client for completion prior to the first meeting. At the first meeting (which is about two hours long) every effort is made to relax the client. The client takes a series of monitored tests covering reading comprehension and grammar knowledge, and writes a short essay. .

Shortly after the first meeting, the client is contacted by a manager of the Writing Program to arrange the second meeting--an in-depth review and analysis of the testing results with recommendations. (This meeting takes about one hour). The review meeting is always conducted in a friendly, relaxed, and positive manner and the client is encouraged to ask any questions and discuss any aspect of his or her writing development needs. A detailed, written analysis is also provided to the student. All results are fully confidential. While there is no obligation to take any other WPx courses, clients frequently elect to continue their writing development by taking a WPx class or tutoring course such as F002: Project Coaching.
