Dr. Brent Monahan
Six weeks of hands-on workshop training
For all storytellers—even beginning script writers—who yearn to create an attention-getting film or television script that gets past the first script reader and into the hands of the real decision makers. This course teaches the basic skills needed to turn words on a page into cinematic storytelling and provides In-depth direction in creating characters, plots and scenes. Guidance is also given in defining when research is needed and how to do it. In this course each participant will write at least five opening pages (about two scenes) of a script that makes the experienced script reader hungry for more.
This course provides “insider information” and industry know-how at many levels. Students are encouraged to bring their TV or film script work in progress to the class for professional critique and in-depth direction in further development. Small class size ensures many opportunities for personal attention and there will be opportunities to learn from the cold readings of different class members.
